Guardian - Cover Reveal

We are absolutely thrilled to bring you the Cover Reveal for Courtney Cole's GUARDIAN! GUARDIAN is a YA Paranormal Romance, and a book close to Courtney’s heart. It is being released on August 28th!

Guardian GUARDIAN Synopsis: Sometimes, things that go bump in the night are real. My name is Whitney Lane. I’m sixteen years old and at first, I thought I was crazy. I kept seeing shadows move along walls, and hearing whispers around corners, but whenever I looked, there was never anything there. Until one day, there was. Our world isn’t what we think. There are things around us, good things, bad things, scary things. Things that we tell ourselves aren’t real, but they are. They’re very real, and they’re terrifying. I’ve been swept up now, in a battle of good and evil, confused about love and what is supposed to be love, but isn’t. I don’t know what to think anymore. I can’t trust my emotions and I don’t know what is true. There’s only one thing I know for sure. Nothing is what it seems. HeadshotABOUT COURTNEY COLE: Courtney Cole is a novelist who would eat mythology for breakfast if she could. She has a degree in Business, but has since discovered that corporate America is not nearly as fun to live in as fictional worlds. She loves chocolate and roller coasters and hates waiting and rude people. Courtney lives in quiet suburbia, close to Lake Michigan, with her real-life Prince Charming, her ornery kids (there is a small chance that they get their orneriness from their mother) and a small domestic zoo.

S. M. Knowles Interview

Have you ever wanted to stp inside the mind of an author? We got a chance to do just that with S.M. Knowles.

1. Tell us about your most recent release (Title, publish date, blurb, and genre):

I released Dream Ending last month. It's the 3rd book in my series.

2. What did you enjoy the most about writing this book?  The least?

It is in a totally different place then the first two books. I loved making up the new adventures, but I disliked having to remember how the tunnels worked. There are a lot of twist and turns making this book a bit harder.

3. What was the hardest scene for you to write?

There wasn't really a hard scene in book 3; however, in book 2 I had a hard time writing the sisters part of the funeral. I couldn't see my screen from the tears my eyes couldn't hold back.

4. How do you market your work?

I primarily use facebook or other social media sites.

5. How do you come up with the inspiration for your books?

My mind plays movies. I write what I watch in my head. Interesting, huh? ;)

6. If your book could be described by a song, which one would it be?

This song right here: Avicii Wake Me Up (Official Video)

7. Who is your favorite author to read?

I love several authors.

8. What are you currently reading?

I am reading Claimed by SE Reign. I believe it is free right now on Amazon. :)

9. Who is your favorite book boyfriend?

I don't have one.

10. What do you do when you aren’t writing?

HA! Going to school. The mind is a beautiful thing. Keep it on its toes!

11. What are you currently working on?

I am currently working on book 4 of the Rylee Everley Series. It is the last book in this series and I'm excited. She's had a lot of adventures and grown up so much.

Midnight Ballering - 5-Star Review

“When I grow up, I’m going to be a dancer. I just know it.”

Of course, life doesn’t always work out how you want. Just ask Monroe Hartley. After burying her childhood dream, Monroe works toward a new one, determined to prove her independence. When life catches up with her, stripping away her resources, she slowly turns toward an unlikely profession. Miller Buchanan has enough on his plate; he doesn’t need to worry about anything or anyone else. Then a petite, dark-haired beauty falls into his lap and despite his personal demons, he can’t stay away. Temptation and possibility linger, but when the past comes knocking, will they trade their future for the familiar? Or will they continue on the path of the unknown?

I GLANCED AT my watch, seeing it was just after midnight. I needed to get the hell out of here so I could get some sleep. Already overworked, I shouldn’t have promised her the favor but she’d always done right by me. I couldn’t keep putting it off. My feet froze when I passed by the open door of one of the rooms, eyes drawn to the lone figure in the center of the glossy, wooden floors, her back facing me. Hair as dark as the night sky in a tight bun atop her head enhanced her creamy white skin, body clad in a scrap of black material that offered as little coverage as a bathing suit. That must be what they wore, even when there weren’t many people around so late at night. Business must be good if the place continued to stay open almost twenty-four seven. I didn’t get the need for it, really. My attention snapped back as she gracefully raised her arms, completely in her own world, before balancing on her tiptoes and spinning around the room endlessly, making me dizzy. My eyes stayed glued to her perfomance, her legs drawing me in like a moth to a flame. While she was petite, her legs seemed to go on for miles, and were powerful and lean as she twirled across the floor, changing quickly into step after step. I was mesmerized. She moved fluidly, legs kicking in every which direction, perfectly in sync with the soft music playing in the background. I could barely make out the song as I focused solely on the ballerina, her body making a tempo of its own, creating a rhythm as she glided effortlessly. Back and forth, forward and backward, round and round. My whole body hummed as I shifted, pressing closer as I continued to observe, unnoticed. I didn’t want her to stop my private show, but it all came to an end too soon as someone walked past me in the hallway, pulling me out of my trance. I looked down to see that almost an hour had passed, cursing myself for letting the dancer distract me, and when I glanced back in the studio, she was gone. It was for the best, really. I walked back out to the front, gathering my tools, re- signed to the fact that I’d have to come back to complete the job another time. It wasn’t happening that night. My little midnight ballerina made sure of that.

I am totally and completely in love with Midnight Ballerina!  It was the cover that initially drew me in and mesmerized me.  But once I cracked that cover, I was hooked.  I mean, hello... did you read that Prologue?!?

The characters are freaking perfect.  Monroe is a fireball and perfectly able to take care of herself.  She knows who she is and how to survive.  So it is incredibly hard for her to let Miller take care of her.  She's spunky and fiesty, and I totally relate to her.

Then you have Miller... oh, swoon-worthy, southern gentleman, Miller.  He has trust issues galore, but he is strong and loving.  I promise that you will want to jump into the pages, knock Monroe out of the way and get into Miller's arms.  Can you tell that I have a little crush on him?

Seriously tho... you do not have to be a dancer or a dance lover to enjoy this.  It isn't all about the dancing and dance lingo... it's about Miller and Monroe.  Midnight Ballerina is brilliantly written and a perfect example of the New Adult genre!

Some of the most ambiguous lyrics take on new meaning when you’re writing a book, even correlating to some of the scenes or giving insight into Hayden and Sloane’s romantic relationship. Sherry has put together just a few of the awesome songs—a collection of her character’s electric tastes in music—mentioned throughout this epic new series in this post. Enjoy!
Still Into You” by Paramore
“Radioactive” by Imagine Dragons:
“Boom Boom Pow” by Black Eyed Peas
“Titanium” song by Sia
“I'm Not Okay (I Promise)” by My Chemical Romance
“Stay” song by Thirty Seconds to Mars
“Counting Stars” by OneRepublic
“Sugar, We’re Going Down” by Fall Out Boy
“Jar of Hearts” by Christina Perri
“Cello Sonata, L 135” by Debussy
While writing LOST IN STARLIGHT, Sherry listened to this amazing track on a loop, “4 Hours of Emotional Music” composed by the talented, Adrian von Ziegler. She found the melody really set the mood to the type of romantic tale that she wanted to write. At its core, LOST IN STARLIGHT is basically a love story about two lonely hearts finding each other and how their star-crossed relationship changes both of their lives.
